The anisotropy index (R-value) is controlled within the range of 0.95-1.05, which is significantly better than the fluctuation range of 1.2-1.5 of traditional rolling processes.
Process Optimization Directions
Through multi-pass variable-direction rolling technology, the grain orientation deviation angle is reduced from 15° to 8°, and the circumferential/axial strength ratio is increased to 0.98 (0.91 for traditional processes). Laser shock peening increases fatigue life by 40%, which is suitable for the 20-year design life requirements of LNG storage tanks.
