Product details
In traditional internal combustion engines, the camshaft is a core component that controls the opening and closing of valves. Without it, the valves cannot operate at the correct timing, the combustion process will not function properly, and therefore the engine basically cannot run.
While theoretically, the function of the camshaft can be replaced by other mechanical or electronic devices, such a replacement is not practical in ordinary structures.
In recent years, some new "camless" engines have adopted electronically controlled valve technology (Camless), using electromagnetic, hydraulic, or pneumatic drives to actuate the valves, achieving more flexible valve timing control. This type of technology can improve efficiency and reduce friction losses, but it has higher costs and technical requirements and has not yet been widely adopted.
Therefore, for most existing cars, once the camshaft is missing or damaged, the engine will not run properly and must be repaired or replaced in a timely manner.
