In lifting machinery, gears are the core transmission components that enable the safe and efficient lifting and movement of heavy objects. Their core function is to exchange speed for a huge output torque, which is the fundamental requirement of lifting operations.

Gear sets are widely used in the hoisting mechanism, luffing mechanism, and traveling mechanism of cranes.

Taking the hoisting mechanism as an example, the high speed and relatively small torque provided by the motor are reduced and increased in torque through a multi-stage gear transmission box. After the gear is transmitted and amplified stage by stage, the final output to the drum will be a huge torque with extremely low speed but sufficient to lift hundreds of tons of heavy objects.

In addition, gear transmission ensures the accuracy and reliability of power transmission. Its compact structure achieves extremely high transmission efficiency, and specific gear forms such as worm gears can also provide natural reverse self-locking functions, preventing heavy objects from falling when power is interrupted, greatly ensuring operational safety.

It can be said that the strength and reliability of the gears directly determine the lifting capacity and safety performance of the crane.
